After using, studying, and researching the current internet format for many years, we found substantial flaws, back-holes, and loopholes and have developed solutions to correct this. Unfortunately , this can only be done by scrapping the old and starting over , building a foundation that will not be shaken and that will last forever. The problem with the current Internet is simply planning, as it was just created as a way to share digital information. did the creators actually ever think it would get this big? Even Microsoft did not see the full potential in it’s earliest stages.
The real problem was when someone started thinking that they could make a lot of money by selling domain names, not to mention people buying up names that had nothing to do with them to sell later, for a substantial amount of profit. The truth is you really don’t need a Domain name at all, you just need a place to store your site files.
The Second Life Internet Testing Model Revealed
For 4 years we have been conducting a research project in the virtual world (Second Life), Why did we use Second Life or a virtual world to test this new internet? By using a virtual world we were able to gather research data that otherwise would have taken too much time, money and resources in a real world environment.
What is Second Life?
Second Life is an online virtual world developed by Linden Lab which was launched on June 23, 2003. A number of free client programs called Viewers enable Second Life users, called Residents, to interact with each other through avatars. Residents can explore the world (known as the grid), meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, and create and trade virtual property and services with one another. Second Life is intended for people aged 13 and over,and as of 2011 has more than 20 million registered user accounts.
Built into the software is a three-dimensional modeling tool based around simple geometric shapes that allows residents to build virtual objects. There is also a procedural scripting language, Linden Scripting Language, which can be used to add interactivity to objects. More complex three-dimensional sculpted prims (colloquially known as sculpties), textures for clothing or other objects, and animations and gestures can be created using external software. The Second Life Terms of Service provide that users retain copyright for any content they create, and the server and client provide simple digital rights management functions.
What type of Tests were performed using this Second Life Internet
We performed numerous , studies that we will explain in further detail:
- Loction based testing , using sim based simulations.
- Created Virtual Internet Distribution Office ,
- Created Hud and Scripts needed to connect to Global Internet
- Designed Software Packaging , to simulate real products
- Gathered feedback from thousands of users
Sometimes it Takes Creativity to Make Something work Better
There is still a lot of work to get this fully functional. Some say using a virtual world experiment has nothing to do with improving or replacing to current internet. We strongly disagree, based by the results and data we have gathered. Facebook users are being targeted in a scam that offers them a chance to install a “dislike” button. The scam tricks users into allowing a rogue application to access their profile page, which then posts spam messages. It also attempts to lure people into completing an online survey, for which the scammers are paid money.
